Inpatient Care
When individuals with acute psychiatric disorders are unable to function on their own, or pose a danger to themselves or others, inpatient treatment can be an effective option. If you or someone you love needs help, Lower Keys Medical Center can help.
The multidisciplinary team provides stabilization, evaluation, planning and treatment services in a safe, secure environment with 24-hour nursing care. Trained behavioral health professionals address the mental, emotional and physical needs of patients, and help patients learn coping skills to manage their condition effectively.
The providers develop a customized treatment plan for each individual that draws from a variety of services and therapies, including:
- Activity and occupational therapy
- Medication management
- Memory and mental status assessment
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Patient and family education
- Stress management, coping and relaxation techniques
- Care from evaluation through recovery
Individuals receive a thorough evaluation by a psychiatrist to determine the best course of treatment. Behavioral health professionals provide patients and their loved ones with educational and emotional support, as well as continuing care services to help ease the transition into daily living.
