Lower Keys Medical Center Announces Stroke Awareness Support Group

Key West, FL – May 15, 2019 – May is Stroke Awareness Month and Lower Keys Medical Center has established a free, monthly Stroke Awareness Support Group which will kick off on Friday, May 24th, 2019, in the hospital main board room from 2 – 3 pm. According to the American Stroke Association, every forty seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke.

The inaugural support group meeting will be facilitated by a registered nurse. Discussions will include the psychological impact of stroke and the challenges of caregiving. Stroke survivors, family members, caregivers and the general public are invited.

Future monthly Stroke Awareness Support Groups will be held the last Tuesday of each month in the hospital board room from 2 – 3 pm. Online registration is available at on our events page. For more information, call (305) 294.5531, extension 4311.
